Periods bring unusual appetites, a bloated stomach, and painful joints. Getting it every month may seem more like a curse if you experience excruciating menstrual cramps or an intolerable one. However, you can do various things to make your periods easier, even though there is no foolproof way to guarantee a pain-free month.

Tips To Make Your Periods Easier

The following tips can help you control pain while also facilitating easier menstruation.

1. Keep yourself hydrated.

Drink eight to ten glasses of water a day. Carry a water bottle with you if you’re always on the go, and try to fill it up numerous times during the day. Even though you will feel low during periods, water will keep you hydrated.

2. Eat Healthier.

Choose fruits, vegetables, or other low-sodium snacks that won’t cause you to bloat. Don’t intake much salt and processed foods. Proteins like fish and chicken and wholesome fats like almonds and avocados are additional sure bets for a nutritious diet. Eat dark chocolate; it contains a lot of magnesium.

3. Avoid coffee.

Minimise the coffee intake during your period because it can irritate your stomach and cause you to feel achy, crampy, and bloated. Instead, drink hot water tea during periods.

4. Exercise.

Yes, even though you probably don’t want to, you should. Doing a few period-friendly exercises like stretches, simple yoga, and brisk walking will help you a lot. In addition, exercise can improve your blood flow, which will help to relieve period problems like bloating.

5. Get enough sleep.

Fatigue is a real thing during your period and can worsen period pain. Sleep for enough hours during periods to help your body relax and recover if you’re feeling low. Sleep for at least 8 to 9 hours every night during your menstruation period.

6. Use a heating pad that doesn’t need an outlet.

Heating makes you feel warm and inviting but also stimulates blood flow and minimises cramping pain. Put it on your abdomen and lower back for relaxation.

7. Take painkillers beforehand.

The hormones called prostaglandins surge a few days before your period. Taking painkillers before you experience period cramps can lessen their severity. Don’t wait until the pain gets worse.

8. Include ginger in your tea.

Ginger is a boon for many health issues. For example, it aids in easing the discomfort and irritation that aggravate cramps. In addition, ginger has heating properties, so it comforts during periods.

9. Always carry a pad.

Keep a tampon or pad with you because you never know when your period will come. It will be a great help if you get periods in your journey, office, or anywhere.

10. Wear Comfortable clothes

Choose another time other than the week of your period to wear fashionable clothes. Skinny pants and tight belts are an absolute no during this time since your tummy, thighs, and legs need to be able to move freely. Avoid them in favour of comfortable leggings and shift dresses.

So, that’s how you can manage to keep yourself comfortable during periods.
